For over 100 years, Moll Funeral Home has been a pillar of the Mascoutah community, providing compassionate funeral services and support to families during their most difficult times. Established in 1910, the funeral home has remained a family-operated business, spanning four generations of dedicated service.
Origins and Early Years
The roots of Moll Funeral Home trace back to 1852, when the Dathan family established a business in the present building. In 1910, Albert D. Moll acquired the company, renaming it Moll Furniture and Undertaking Company. Albert, a skilled embalmer trained in St. Louis, managed the business alongside his family, setting the foundation for a legacy of care and professionalism.
Growth and Generational Leadership
Albert’s sons, Ado L. A. Moll and Emmett G. L. Moll, joined the business in 1921, forming a partnership that strengthened the company’s presence in Mascoutah. Over the years, the funeral home evolved, with Emmett becoming the sole owner in 1944. His son, Daniel Moll, later took over, followed by Robert and Steven Moll, marking the fourth generation of family leadership.
Commitment to the Community
Throughout its history, Moll Funeral Home has remained dedicated to serving Mascoutah with dignity and respect. The funeral profession has changed over the past century, but the Moll family’s commitment to compassionate care has remained steadfast. Today, the funeral home continues to provide personalized services, ensuring that families receive the support they need during times of loss.
